YouTube money calculator: how much do YouTubers earn?

A free YouTube money calculator that answers how much YouTubers earn for a real channel, not an average one. Most calculators use a single generic CPM; this one uses the RPM range for each of the ten faceless niches we track, then adjusts for format and audience country — the two factors that move payouts more than view count does. How much do YouTubers earn at each channel size?

Monthly ad revenue for a long-form faceless channel with a mostly US/UK audience, using a typical $3–$8 RPM for broad niches and a $15–$42 RPM for finance, business, real estate and software. Shorts-only channels earn roughly a tenth of these figures.

Monthly viewsBroad nicheHigh-RPM niche

1,000,000$2,100 – $5,600$10,500 – $29,400

Ad revenue only, assuming 70% of views are monetized. Affiliate and sponsorship income typically exceeds ad revenue in the high-RPM niches.

How the numbers are calculated

  • RPM, not CPM. RPM is estimated revenue per thousand views after YouTube's share and including non-monetized views — see YouTube's RPM documentation.
  • Revenue share. Creators keep 55% of long-form ad revenue and 45% of the Shorts pool under the Partner Program terms; that share is already baked into the RPM ranges.
  • Format multipliers. Shorts are modelled at roughly 9% of long-form RPM and TikTok Creator Rewards at roughly 3.5%, since both pay from a view pool rather than per ad impression.
  • Ranges, not promises. Ad suitability, season (Q4 peaks, January drops 30–40%) and watch time all move the real figure.

Frequently asked questions

How much do YouTubers earn?
Most monetized YouTubers earn between $3 and $8 per 1,000 views, so a channel doing 500,000 views a month typically earns $1,500–$4,000 from ads. Niche matters more than size: faceless finance, business, real estate and software channels earn $15–$42 per 1,000 views, while gaming and entertainment sit nearer $5–$12. Shorts pay roughly a tenth of long-form.
Is this YouTube money calculator accurate?
It uses published RPM planning ranges per niche rather than one generic CPM, then adjusts for format and audience country and assumes about 70% of views serve ads. That produces a realistic range rather than a single inflated number, but your own RPM will still vary with ad suitability, watch time and season.
How much does YouTube pay per 1,000 views?
Across all of YouTube, roughly $3–$8 per thousand views (RPM) after the platform's share. Faceless channels in finance, real estate, business and software land at $15–$42, while gaming and entertainment sit near $5–$12.
How does this calculator estimate earnings?
It takes the RPM planning range for the niche you pick, applies a format multiplier (Shorts and TikTok pay a fraction of long-form), applies an audience-country multiplier, and assumes about 70% of views are monetized. The result is a range, not a guarantee.
Why is my real RPM lower than the estimate?
The most common causes are a non-tier-one audience mix, limited ads from ad-suitability flags, a Shorts-heavy upload mix, and January seasonality, when advertiser budgets reset and RPM commonly drops 30–40% from the Q4 peak.
Do faceless channels earn less than on-camera channels?
No. RPM is set by advertiser demand for the topic, not by whether a face appears. Faceless finance and software channels earn the same per-view rates as on-camera channels in the same niche.
Is ad revenue the whole picture?
Rarely. In software, business, finance and real estate niches, affiliate and sponsorship income routinely exceeds ad revenue at every channel size, because one converted viewer is worth more than a thousand ad impressions.
